Rollover

Conrad finally rolled over for the first time on St. Paddy's Day!! He and I stayed home that day because of his pink eye and me starting to get pink eye. He finally figured out how to get his hips to rollover with the rest of his body. Now, a few weeks later, he's an absolute pro. His favorite time to rollover is when we put him in his crib for the night. He rolls over and peers over the edge of the port-a-crib at us. After sometimes several attempts of placing him on his back, he finally goes to sleep.

Petting zoo

Our HOA hosted an Easter egg hunt with petting zoo on Saturday, March 15th. Conrad woke up with pink eye that morning but that didn't deter us from taking him to see the animals at the petting zoo. About the only animal he could get close to was this sheep. He definitely spent time studying the animal.

Afternoon at the park

Barry's aunt and uncle came to the Lone Star state from snowy Iowa to visit at the beginning of March. We walked to the neighborhood park to enjoy the beautiful sun. Aunt Jill took Conrad for a ride down the slide.

Pink eye saga

Well, since Conrad has been in daycare he has had the stomach bug (which he gave to me and then to Barry). He is on his second cold that has now given him PINK EYE.

I had pink about a year and a half ago... viral and spent about 2 weeks out of work and almost $300 in doctor visits and medications before getting rid of it. Did I mention that because I was so light sensitive our cell phone bill was astronomical that month as well (I couldn't watch TV, look at the computer or read). YIKES!

I definitely don't want any of Conrad's pink eye so I am diligently washing my hands. But since he is drooling, snotty nosed and his eye is draining... this may be a bit difficult. All of this hasn't phased him one bit. He is still happy go lucky with a cough and eye gunk!

I'll post a great pic of his eye gunk soon.

Warmer weather

Ok, it is finally warming up which means Conrad can finally start wearing his gazillion onesies. It's a bummer that he's already outgrown a ton of them without ever wearing them. I guess that's the price you pay for having a big baby.

Not to worry, he has plenty of other clothes... and I just bought him some great onesie-short outfits at Carter's last weekend.

He is getting close to rolling completely over. He has been able to roll from his back to his side for several weeks now. Since he's not such a fan of tummy-time, it will take him a while to roll onto his stomach. Even then, I dont' think he'll be very happy about it.

We are looking forward to our first homeowner's event this weekend. The community is having an Easter egg hunt and petting zoo. Pictures will definitely be posted with Conrad's first encounter with farm animals.

Yummy food

We've been trying off and on for a couple weeks to feed Conrad cereal. Until today, he wasn't at all interested in keeping any of it in his mouth.

I was eating a fruit leather (100% natural and organic dried fruit). Conrad kept eyeing it so I let him suck on a part of it. As you can see, he really enjoyed the sweetness.

This prompted me to give rice cereal another shot. He attacked the spoon for the first couple of bites then decided it was time for milk. He drank half a bottle and took some more cereal after that before finishing off his bottle.

We'll see if this was a one-time eating bonanza or if he will continue to take an interest in food.

Welcome

This blog has been created to help share Conrad's first year with all of his family and friends. He changes everyday and is constantly discovering new ways to amaze us. We hope this blog will allow us to capture his everyday, milestone and priceless moments.

Conrad helped his parents vote on Tuesday, March 4th. Who did he vote for??? I think he wanted Dad to vote for Mom's pick since he cried while Barry voted.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this cute blue hat that he received as a gift from Barry's co-worker. We think he looks like a little snowboarder.

Check back often, Conrad is busy GROWING!
